Campers from several states participate in the Arkansas Blind Camp at Camp Yorktown on Lake Ouachita in Hot Springs each summer.  The camp provides a yearly opportunity for blind and sight impaired persons to come together with their peers and enjoy a full range of summer camp activities.  Individual volunteers and volunteers from Village clubs and organizations work both at camp and at one of the 10 off-camp activity locations.  The Hot Springs Village Evening Lions have volunteered at the camp for many years and approximately 40 Lions take part each year.

Recreational Camps
Lions proudly support recreational camps that are customized to meet the special needs of children and adults who are blind or who have severe vision loss. With input from experts – physicians, departments and ministries of health and local foundations – Lions have organized recreational camps to give these individuals the unique experience of camping.
